Corporate Identity Design for First London Power

First London Power produces sustainable combined heat and power (CHP) from everyday rubbish which would normally go into landfills. Whilst the First London Power represented the CHP, the First London Group was the holding company of other sustainable and eco-friendly energy products.

We were to give these start-up companies a corporate identity. The new corporate identity would communicate their London location as well as the green sustainable credentials. We were asked to design a corporate identity design that looked fresh and vibrant. Moreover, the design brief stated that the company logo was timeless and thus not needed an update for at least 5 to 10 years. Next, we took the client on a journey of design exploration. Our team undertook vital market and brand research into their market place. Furthermore, we also exposed the First London Power team to a selection of our initial corporate designs.

This methodology provided us an invaluable insight into the client’s own teams likes and dislikes. It addition, it’s our role as corporate design consultants to push the envelope and provide designs which are out of the clients normal comfort zone. We feel it is only by including these wildcard designs along with those matching the client’s brief, that we can find that “eureka” corporate identity design.

When you examine the final logos, you will notice that the River Thames clearly indicates London, whilst the green or silver dots indicating the location of the CHP site along its route. At the end of this journey the client received the corporate identities which cut through the white noise in their market place. Furthermore, it also help them to increase market share.
